Rehabilitation

The Master-plan of final uses post-rehabilitation will unveiled within the next few weeks upon the conclusion of neighbour and community consultation. The chronology of steps is to re-zone the property from the current industrial uses thereby:

• Terminating aggregate extraction activities,
• Permanently close down the industrial waste disposal permits,
• Clean-up to Ministry of Environment approval
• Preserve natural and heritage features along the brow of the Escapement,
• Restore and the natural and ecological beauty of the Niagara Escarpment, and
• Complete the rehabilitation of the post-extractive quarry to a golf course and other associated uses pursuant to the approved rehabilitation of the Ministry of Natural Resources.
